Job Description

Job Summary: The Director of Training and Quality will have national oversight of the Company’s training, and quality programs to include but not limited to; new hire training program, new customer training, quality programs for inhouse and subcontractor network along with assisting in accident prevention and ensuring safety compliance in the field.


Primary Responsibilities:


1.     Ensures that all training needs are consistently met at all sites

2.     Plan and implement training policies and procedures nationally while ensuring company and regulatory rules and policies are enforced

3.     Provides reporting on training completion and performance through internal LMS and customer systems

4.     Develops and enforces a national process for training and development of technicians

  1. Evaluate training program by reviewing company performance to ensure quality expectations are being met
  2. Provide recommendations regarding improving employee’s performance and training practices

7.     Receive and analyze feedback from Project Managers on what is working and not working in the area of training and quality

8.     Maintains up to date knowledge of industry and company training requirements

9.     Conducts and attends regular meetings with site level training staff

10.  Regularly visits assigned sites for live training observations, inspection and validation of performance and successful execution of training processes

11.  Regularly publish metrics and tools relevant to training and quality to help drive business strategies and performance

12.  Complete weekly and quarterly quality audits on inhouse and subcontractor crews to ensure customer satisfaction along with GW’s performance standards

13.  Provide Quality reviews for subcontractors to highlight issues and enforce improvement action plans to correct

14.  Supports risk management and safety objectives as assigned Ensures all safety policies are adhered to including but not limited to first aid, driver safety, ladder safety, fall protection and accident prevention for both new and existing employees

15.  Assist the Director of Safety to ensure Company compliance with OSHA regulations

Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential accidental and health hazards

Job Requirements




•         Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;

or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•         Prefer completion of a diploma program in engineering, survey technology, geography or related discipline supplemented by completion of a geographic information system post diploma program at an Institute of Technology, plus some related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


•         Aerial and Underground experience with minimum of 5-10 years Industry experience in aerial construction

•         GIS background with a variety of technical and analytical functions related to the use of the Geographic Information System. Ability to performs a wide range of duties relative to the assembly of graphic and non-graphic data, the production of maps, reports, and related information, and the development and implementation of GIS procedures and standards. Must be able to research, compile, analyze, enter, and edit spatial data and geographic and associated non-graphic data from legal source maps, orthophotographs, and record drawings, and related documentation into a computer database; producing computer assisted base, legal and utility servicing maps using the GIS System and related software; create and maintain production data sets; identify need for new data sets and related data tables; convert dissimilar data formats into new data sets and update related data tables; create derivative data sets and define logical relationships with existing databases; prepare and/or revising drawings and maps for a variety of projects using various software packages and tools; participate in the development and enhancement of GIS procedures, standards and applications including Web-based access to GIS and related databases.

•         Knowledge of industry specific tools and equipment

•         Must have worked with Subcontractors based crews Advanced knowledge of cable installation techniques and procedures

Technical Skills


•         Maintain up to date knowledge of industry specific trainings, compliance and technology

•         Competency to read reports and understand Performance Metrics

•         Strong working knowledge and curriculum design.

•         Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
