Job Title: Accounting Manager

Department: Finance

Reports To: Corporate Controller

FLSA Status: Exempt

Directs financial activities of an organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare, review and/or manage month-end closing and financial reporting activities for the shared services organization, account reconciliations and

  • Manage day-to-day shared service accounting functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Prepare certain monthly financial statement and analysis

  • Weekly 13 week cash projections, cash flow and invoicing reports

  • Prepare and/or review month-end balance sheet account reconciliations for shared service organization and operating units

  • Liaison with operating units regarding accounting matters and ensure accounting consistency across the company.

  • Ensure proper statement of monthly receivable and inventory balances and associated reserve accounts on a monthly basis

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly debt compliance filings.

  • Support continued Oracle implementation and improvements

  • Support SOX implementation across all businesses and functions

  • Manage quarterly inventory audits, more frequent if needed

  • Create and implement financial policies and procedures

  • Liaison with external auditors and tax advisors

  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis

  • Supervise, mentor and develop shared service accounting and accounts payable staff

  • Monitor developments in GAAP ensuring compliance with emerging standards

Job Requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities

The role manages three subordinate supervisors (Accounts Payable and Accounting) who supervise a total of seven employees in the Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable and Asset functions. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • CPA Preferred, but not required

  • International Accounting Exposure

  • Experience with Oracle or other similar ERP system

  • 5+ years management experience

  • Experience establishing credibility and working relationships with Senior Level Executives

  • Proven ability to support a dynamic, fast-growth environment

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Master's degree (B.S. or B. A.M. A.) in Accounting or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
