UniTek Global Services - Project Manager

Job Summary:


Lead and provide ownership of full life cycle of multiple and/or large complex projects across the company. Support bidding (pre-sale) process, writing and negotiating statements of work, and tracking and monitoring progress of projects. Work with key stakeholders to cover project scope, project and program planning, risk assessment, secure the necessary resources, monitor, and execute all activities while controlling project costs and scope.
Primary Responsibilities:



  1. The Project Manager is accountable for all activities in the Unitek project model. This includes direct and constant communication with key stakeholders and customers throughout the course of the project.

  2. Monitor and control project/program progress focusing on the needs and priorities of the customer and other important project stakeholders. Create and maintain master program schedule of all projects within the program at a sufficient level of detail to manage and track project progress.

  3. Provide early support and involvement in planning phase of project activities including cost estimation, development of the initial project timeline, writing and negotiating statements of work, resource planning and risk assessment.

  4. Utilizing business and financial knowledge, the Project Manager is responsible for monitoring and controlling all project financials in Excel/Access/MS Project, establishing detailed planning and tracking to enable project stakeholders and sponsors to have clear visibility of project status and financial results.

  5. Project Manager responsible for risk management throughout the program.

  6. Maintain weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to include project progress and budget/resource forecasting.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent field



Experience:


  • Minimum of 5 plus years of full life cycle project management

  • 3-5 years operational/construction/engineering experience

  • 3-5 experience contract experience – implementing and managing contracts



Technical Skills:


  • Experience with MS Project, Excel, Visio, Access or other database systems

  • Strong orientation to quality, attention to detail, continuous improvement and customer service

  • PMP certificate highly desired

  • Superior communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and consultative skills

  • Interest in providing customer service to internal and external contacts and supporting client relationships

Physical Requirements:


  • Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day

  • Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day.

  • Typical office environment

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.

  • May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.

  • The ability to travel as needed – approx. 20% to 30% US based travel
