DirectSAT USA - Regional Logistics Manager
Chicago, IL

Job Summary:

The Regional Logistics Manager is responsible for managing all warehouse operations for all
business segments. They will ensure that all warehouses achieve all the corporate goals and
objectives to satisfy internal and external business requirements. The ideal candidate will have
strong managerial experiences with stocking, scanning, shipping/receiving distribution, excellent
time management skills, and superior organization ability. Previous data entry experience and
computer knowledge is a must for entering orders, and inventory counts into DirectSAT systems.
Internet based inventory, office suites, and the ability to operate a fork lift is required. This
candidate must be readily available to be called upon to travel to remote locations to assist and
train the warehouse managers across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manages all designated warehouse operations across the organization. Works in conjunction with the local General Manager with all inventory related needs, and provides constructive feedback to improve the overall site efficiencies of the local warehouse.

  2. Reviews all daily warehouse operations reporting, and provides constructive feedback to the local Warehouse and General Manager on areas of opportunities.

    1. Provide a weekly summary report to the Supply Chain Manager of all areas of opportunities that were discussed with the local market.

  3. Enforces, oversees, and reconciles all end of the month/quarter physical inventory counts.

    1. Works directly with all Warehouse and General Managers on their inventory discrepancies, by reviewing the roll forward provided by the Corporate BI group.

    2. Works directly with the Logistics Analyst on all serialized inventory reconciliation. Any missing serialized inventory will be moved to an assigned quarantined location in Oracle for further research.

  4. Ensures that all RMA’s are processed weekly.

    1. Compliance reporting will be sent out weekly by the Logistics Analysist.

    2. Ensure that all markets are above the contractual percentage.

  5. Ensures that all sites achieve performance metrics and goals set forth by DirectSat.

    1. Establish SMART quality and productivity goals for individual locations.

    2. Reviews all inventory accuracy results with their assigned sites weekly.

    3. Corporate accuracy goal is 99% or better.

  6. Complies with all corporate management directives, and communicates these directives to all employees, as needed.

  7. Responsible for the training and orientation of all new warehouse managers within the assigned region.

  8. Measure and evaluate warehouse operations workflow, including leading cross functional efforts to recommend, implement and improve work processes

  9. Liaise with vendors, Corporate Fleet department, Corporate Fixed Asset department and others to maintain optimum utilization of resources

  10. Site visits are to be conducted on a regular basis. When performing these site visits, an audit checklist and overall feedback will need to be reported back to corporate within 7 days of the visit.

    1. If action items need to be addressed, a meeting with the local leadership must be completed before you leave the market. This will give all the employees an opportunity to ask questions, challenge, or provide feedback on the action item.

    2. Follow up within 2 weeks of the report being submitted.

  11. Travel is required with this position. Travel to markets will only be approved by the Supply Chain Manager when it is justified. Travel could be up to 75% of the time, and is depending on the status of the markets that you are covering.

  12. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable
laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and
directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems.

Job Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience directly supervising warehouse and/or logistics management roles.

  2. Candidate must have proven leadership ability, excellent written/verbal communication skills.

  3. Previous experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred.

    1. Preferably as a Supervisor or Manager

  4. BA/BS degree preferred.

  5. Works in both field and office environments.

  6. Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver ladders, materials, and equipment.

  7. Must be profit focused, results-oriented, and effective motivator.

  8. Very knowledgeable with OSHA requirements to ensure all warehouses are complying with all regulations.

  9. Must have strong computer skills, including experience with Windows based PC’s, and strong Microsoft product suite experience.

  10. Proficient Oracle user is preferred. Any ERP system experience is required.

Education and/or Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to
one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where
only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written,
oral, diagram, or schedule form.
